2014/08/18: Today, Kodansha Comics published the first volume of The Heroic Legend of Arslan in English. It is a manga adaptation of one of Tanaka Yoshiki's earliest stories, written and illustrated by Arakawa Hiromu, celebrated author of the critically acclaimed Fullmetal Alchemist manga. Arakawa's work is the second and most recent adaptation of the Arslan series. The book is also available in digital format via Amazon.
2014/02/13: From ANN: The latest stage production of Tanaka Yoshiki's space opera novel series Legend of the Galactic Heroes opened on Wednesday, and it ended with an announcement of a new anime adaptation. Tanaka's secretary Adachi Hirofumi confirmed the news, and relayed the producer's comments that the new anime is not a remake of the earlier anime, but another anime adaptation of the original novels with a new staff.
2012/03/22: It has come to light that 2 days ago, Ishiguro Noboru, the director of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, passed away.
