Name origin

"Truenicht's name seems to come from the pro-apartheid politician Andries Treurnicht, and France have two far-right politicians called Karl Lang and Philippe de Villiers: real life Smug Snakes sharing the name of their fictional counterparts."

And I think there's a character named Karl Lang in LotGH and still haven't got his own page in the Galactic Empire citizens section. But I think he's a good guy? One of the reformers in 2nd Season who work for Reinhard. I forgot.

How's Treurnicht pronounced? This is a German name, right? My guess is like トロイーニヒト. But for this character here the Katakana transliteration is トリューニヒト, so I'm guessing Trünicht, since the Japanese tends to read German ü as yu. So, to use Treurnicht or Trünicht... Military service

I remember hearing somewhere that he served in the Alliance military, but never set foot off of Heinessen during that time. I think it might have been in Overture to A New War. Does anyone recall hearing that? —Goldenbaum Loyalist 03:59, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
