Running Start Towards the Future (Japanese: 未来への助走) is the 99th episode of the Legend of Galactic Heroes OVA.

Synopsis

Wolfgang Mittermeyer and Fritz Joseph Bittenfeld return to Fezzan. They are debriefed by Reinhard von Lohengramm. Mittermeyer meets with Hildegard von Mariendorf and consults her over the possibility of adopting Oskar von Reuenthal's child, who assures him that there will not be any problems. Mittermeyer then adopts Reuenthal's child and servant and brings them home to meet his wife. Hildegard reveals to Reinhard that she is pregnant with his child, and then accepts his previous marriage proposal. The Terraist inner circle begins to show signs of dissent over the news of Reinhard having a successor. A deranged Alfred von Landsberg leads Imperial soldiers to the mummified corpse of what he claims to be Erwin Josef II. In Iserlohn Fortress, its staff celebrates the new year with a large party.
