The Alliance carrier is a type of vessel designed as a mothership which formed the central core of the Alliance starfleet and utilized Spartanian fighter as its primary strike force designed to attacked an Imperial fleet with its fighter squadrons. As of 788 UC, the Lazarus class is the standard Carrier pattern in Alliance Starfleet.

Design

Alliance Carriers have half open hangar design with fighters mounted in under lower hull of the ship, when deployed, the fighters were launched from these under belly hangars into combat, although their fighter deployment is faster and can carry more planes, these carriers were even more vulnerable to attacks from below as their lower hull remained unarmored due to the space required for carry Spartanian fighters into combat. This was demonstrated during the Forth Battle of Tiamat and the Battle of Rantemario which showed numerous Alliance carrier being gutted from below by Imperial vessels when launching Spartanians.
