Alfred Rosas was a vice admiral in the Free Planets Alliance navy and a member of the Year 730 Mafia. He also served as Bruce Ashbey's chief of staff. He was born in 710 and died in 788. He graduated fourth in his class.

History

"I was not blessed with tremendous talent like Ashbey. My job was to listen to everyone and coordinate their opinions in order to serve as the buffer among the strong personalities in our commanding headquarters. In order to make use of the vastly different talents, a living "glue" was neccessary. I saw my raison d'etre in fullfilling that need, and actively put myself in that role. And in actuality, when I was a commanding officer on my own, I would think that my own competence was probably only slightly above average. But having served as Ashbey's chief of staff six times over the course of ten years, I believe I had his confidence and trust." -From Alfred Rosas' autobiography

In SC 745, Ashbey was appointed Chief Commander of the Space Fleet, and in June of that year, I was appointed to be the Chief of General Staff of the Space Fleet. Though there were whispers of resentment over these 730-mafia centric assignments, our achievements are matters of public knowledge.

The year Ashbey died, Alfred's wife also died. She died while he was away. She had been very sick. After he death, he became very lethargic and withdrawn, and requested a leave of absence.

Rosas wrote an autobiography titled, "My Recollections," first printed in July SC 778 by Owl Books. That same year, it was awarded the Clear-Water Award. It is considered to be one of the most important documents in Alliance history.

As part of his investigation of the Tuesday Correspondence, Yang Wenli interviewed Admiral Rosas briefly, and shortly after that interview, Rosas died of unnatural causes. When he left the residence, Rosas' granddaughter told Wang that her grandfather was not friends with Ashbey at all: that, in fact, Ashbey had stolen the credit for all of her grandfather's accomplishments.
