Battleship

The battleship (Japanese: 戦艦) is the largest type of military vessel (besides designated flagships) that are depicted in the series. Fielded by both the Free Planets Alliance and the Galactic Empire, the battleship was the most prominent vessel in any combat engagements and were more likely to be presented with a name compared to other smaller types of military vessels.

Free Planets Alliance
The Alliance battleship was the backbone of the Free Planets Star Fleet. (LOGH: 'The Battle of Amritsar Starzone')
The armour of these battleships was considered heavy - at the Battle of Amritsar, the 13th Fleet lined up its battleships as a sort of wall, which the fleet's smaller ships could hide behind. (LOGH: 'The Battle of Amritsar Starzone')
The stark, utalitarian nature of the design is indicative of Alliance martial ideology. The most famous of these ships is likely the Ulysses (No. 913-D). Some variations appear, like the Muh'wäse, with distinctive 'hammerhead' prow, as well as the Abai Geser, which was equipped with more antennae than the standard variant. Background information
The series features slight differences in the design of Imperial battleships, where the lower and two upper engines sometimes appear shorter. It is not clear whether this is merely animation inconsistencies or actual changes in the ships' design.
