- This template's sole purpose is to make it easier to produce text that is both bolded and italicised. (It is not intended to replace the normal method of italicisation on its own.) Due to the way MediaWiki's mark-up works, accomplishing this without a template is somewhat cumbersome (it is easy to misplace an apostrophe) and can cause errors when used in conjunction with quotes or contractions. The most common use case for this template, therefore, will be similar to the following:
