Synopsis

Oskar von Reuenthal plans to divide up his fleet into a formation which would surround the incoming fleets. Before he could execute this formation however, Wolfgang Mittermeyer arrives in the Rantemario Starzone with his fleet and quickly engages Reuenthal's fleet gathered there. Mittermeyer uses quick fleet movement to hold the line and limit casualties. Over time, Fritz Joseph Bittenfeld and August Samuel Wahlen's fleets arrive as well. Bruno von Knappstein is killed in battle. Wahlen is nearly killed and loses his prosthetic arm. Bittenfeld's fleet formation is unstable due to it being a combination of the surviving portion of his original fleet and that of Adalbert von Fahrenheit's fleet from the Battle of the Corridor. Eventually the battle becomes a war of attrition. After it is reported that Ernest Mecklinger is leading his fleet towards Heinessen, Reuenthal orders a hasty, but orderly retreat.
