History
Nguyen Kim Hoa succeeded Arle Heinessen's role as leader of the Exodus Fleet after Heinessen died during the passage through the Iserlohn Corridor.
By the time Nguyen Kim Hoa had grown so old that he could no longer see, some time circa 527 UC (218 IC / 3327 CE), the Exodus Fleet discovered a habitable planet in orbit of a stable, fixed star. The planet was named Heinessen in honor of Arle Heinessen. Once on the surface of the planet, Nguyen Kim Hua announced the foundation of the Free Planets Alliance and the resurrection of the Universal Calendar, then at its 527th year.
Nguyen Kim Hoa died, presumably of old age, in 538 UC (229 IC / 3338 CE), eleven years after the foundation of the Alliance. He had refused all public office on account of old age and poor health, and was only honorary president of the Heinessen Memorial Association. (Legend of Galactic Heroes Volume 5: Wind and Clouds)
