Empire's Afterglow (Japanese: 帝国の残照) is the 4th episode of Legend of Galactic Heroes (OVA).
Synopsis
After his overwhelming victory at the Battle of Astate, Reinhard von Lohengramm returns to the Imperial Capital on Odin and is promoted to the rank of Admiral. Together with Siegfried Kircheis, Reinhard visits his sister, Annerose von Grunewald, favored concubine of the Imperial emperor, Friedrich IV.
Kircheis contemplates the past, remembering how he first met Reinhard and Annerose; how Annerose was taken from her family; how the loss of his sister ignited Reinhard's ambitions to depose the tyranny of the High Nobles and the Goldenbaum Dynasty.
