Eugen von Castrop (Japanese: オイゲン・フォン・カストロプ) was an Imperial noble who served as minister of finance under the rule of Kaiser Friedrich IV. In addition, he was the duke of the Castrop Starzone. During his tenure as finance minister, he used his position to funnel Imperial funds into his own coffers and used his political influence to avoid punishment even as people like Count Ruge investigated his doings.
He died in an accident aboard a spacecraft he owned. Upon his death, the Empire sought to prosecute this fraud. In order to make an example and discourage other members of the aristocracy from engaging in graft of that scale, the Empire ordered Castrop's heir, Maximilian von Castrop to surrender it; however, he refused, and ultimately revolted.
