Strategic Studies Department

The Strategic Studies Department was part of the Free Planets Alliance Officer Academy curriculum. It was not a core department, but a complimentary department and thus dependant on a cadet's choice.

The Strategic Studies Department, however, was also seen as one of the Academy's elite departments. To gain access to it, one generally had to have excellent academic standing.

Despite most of his grades being below-average, Yang Wen-li's excellence in his strategic simulation classes, where he defeated the Academy's best and singularly impressed his teachers, gained him entry into the department when the curriculum he was previously part of was closed due to budget cuts. This would be one of the few areas where Yang would excel in.
