Appearances

Editing this article brings up an interesting issue in terms of appearances- whilst its useful for ships like the Barbarossa to have each appearance noted, with a ship as prolific as the Beowulf, is it useful? I'm inclined to include them - but I'm a bit lazy tonight after searching for the perfect image of Beowulf, so maybe its best to add appearnaces as and when they're found until we have them all?Vympel 13:27, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, that's fine. I want the appearances there, but it's not necessary to get them all at once. Some Beowulf fan will eventually fill in any gaps. :)  ♥ kine @ 13:52, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Ship design question

I'm wondering where to put commentary about the ship's design (it was inappropriate for "military service"). I don't think its unsourced to say that the Beowulf clearly resembles the Tristan - its intentional afterall, they're the ships of the Twin Stars (just like Eistla and Ulfrun look similar because Grillpalzer and Knapfstein were supposed to be the twin stars of the next generation). Maybe a seperate heading - same place to put the stuff from the fleet files, if we can ever translate them?Vympel 06:37, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

I would say it's appropriate to put a small remark about it in the body text somewhere, but i wouldn't expound upon it. (Just something like 'The Beowulf's design was similar to the Tristan's'.) For comparisons like Beowulf/Tristan vs Eistla/Ulfrun, i'd put that in the 'Background information' section, because there was nothing about either of these connection mentioned on the screen.
As far as what section the commentary would go in, i would say under a 'Design' section or something. We don't have one, but you can create it. You might look to Bulbapedia for inspiration; they do a similar thing with articles about Pokémon.  ♥ kine @ 07:15, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Japanese name

Am I mistaken, or does the Japanese name currently says "Barbarossa" instead of "Beowulf"? Glacierfairy 13:09, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Whoops. I think its fixed now. Can you check it against an episode caption? I'm at work so I can't. Vympel 04:02, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
The version I have are missing the original Japanese captions -.- But I remember viewing an older version using a kanji caption instead of katakana. "人狼" I think. I am not sure whether it is still the case for the newer version Glacierfairy 07:35, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Heh, that's what I have the CA laserdisc version (original captions are part of the "print"), the native DVD version, and the CA translation - but yes you're right it was kanji in the native DVD, so fixed. Vympel 10:52, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
This is where there is an interesting divergence of meaning between the katakana and kanji version. 人狼 means "werewolf". Iracundus 15:21, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
