Changing the wording some--IE using "dowry" instead of "payment." I realize "dowry" isn't strictly applicable, but it indicates that this was a common business practice/transaction instead of some seedy, back-room deal.

The correct term is bride price. Dowry is when the woman's family pays to the man's family. Iracundus 02:42, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
