New translation project

A fan has started a new translation project at http://legendofgalacticheroes.blogspot.com.au/

I think we should invite it to be hosted as it is already at Chapter 3 of the first book and also links to Gineipaedia. Thoughts? Iracundus 13:58, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

I agree. The translation looks pretty good and if the project eventually covers the entire series, it will be an invaluable resource to all English-speaking fans of LoGH and being hosted on Gineipaedia will (hopefully) help to increase its exposure to the fanbase. They may link here or reference here but it does not necessarily mean they are registered members. The author at https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9498399/1/An-Ideal-To-Fight-For for example has a good LOGH fanfiction in an alternative timeline and has many references but I do not think he is a registered member here. Anyway, can someone drop a comment to the translation project person? Leaving comments on there requires accounts that I do not have, and I must admit not wanting to set up an account just purely to leave 1 comment. Iracundus 09:07, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Actually, I'm the author of 'An Ideal To Fight For'. I do reference here a lot, and fill in the blanks about things that are absent to make it a coherent story. FPA Forever

Oh that mystery solved then. Very good story. I must admit I was hoping it was somebody else (as it would mean another potential new member with good knowledge out there). Incidentally the translator is female. She seems to be using the rank system from the old logh.net instead of the official one from the sketches we have here on our site. Maybe she does not know where to find it on the site, and she does not seem to be a military buff so it may all seem a bit confusing. Iracundus 22:06, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Yes. She said she has issues with the licensing so we cannot directly use her work unless we make some exceptions. For the time being I think we should have a link to her blog under the novels section. Strayor 02:42, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Strayor's being very nice. I'm actually not interested in having Gineipaedia host my work at all. I wish to retain full control over the contents. You can link to my work, but you cannot host it. Sorry. Fugusushi 15:17, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Perhaps it would be better to simply change our Novel translations link in the side bar to point to Fugusushi's blog. I was never comfortable with the idea of hosting translations here, and the content is stagnant anyway, whereas this is an active project.  ♥ kine @ 00:50, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
