Jean Robert Lappe (Japanese: ジャン・ロベール・ラップ) was a very intelligent officer, whom even the great Yang Wenli considered to be his equal. Lappe was also Yang's best friend, having spent a great deal of time together when they were both in the Free Planets Alliance Officer Academy. Jean Robert Lappe was killed in action at the Battle of Astate; he was survived by his wife, Jessica Edwards.
