Service history
The Maurya was first observed based at Iserlohn Fortress as part of the 13th Fleet, departing with the fleet on campaign against the forces of the National Salvation Military Council. Its first engagement following this was at the Battle of Doria Starzone, where Rear Admiral Nguyen's squadron was instrumental in cutting the 11th Fleet's formation in two.(DNT: 'The Yang Fleet Mobilises', 'The Battle of the Doria Starzone')
Design
The Maurya shared many design features with other Alliance flagships in the 'FB10' series, such as the Patroklos. It was distguishable by the lack of antennae protruding from the rear hull, and an extended dorsal hull structure that extended far further to the stern of the ship than other Alliance 'FB10' flagships. An arrangement of 9 launch bays on the port and starboard side of the rear hull were capable of launching two Spartanian fighters each, allowing for a complement of 36 Spartanian fighters.
