The Navigation Safety Department was a branch of the United Earth Government's Ministry of Space. It dealt primarily with the exploration of far-off starzones as well as the documentation and mapping of Navigation Corridors.
As more and more colonies were founded and interstellar traffic increased, the Navigation Safety Department was re-organized into the Department of Public Peace in 2404 CE.(LOGH: 'To Earth')
