New Years day is the first day of January for the Common Era, Universal Calendar, Imperial Calendar and New Imperial Calendar dating systems. On New Year's Eve (31. December), it is customary for people to hold celebrations, and to cheer on the new year when the clock hits 24:00 / 0:00 local time. In the Empire, it is customary to toast with a simple, "Prosit!" In the Alliance, the phrase, "Happy New Year!" and "May the New Year bring victory and peace!" SL: 'A Thread from the Past'
