There's a good opportunity for an 'apocrypha' type entry here - in Episode 35, when Reuenthal and Mittermeyer wipe out Nguyen and Alarcon, Mittermeyer's coterie of subordinates (Bülow, Sinzer, Droisen, Bayerlein) are all Vice Admirals - but then later in season 2, we see Bayerlein and he's a Rear Admiral gain! Preponderance of evidence says Rear Admiral, is what I decided when I noticed it in my battle posts. Vympel 07:04, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Ahh!! I have a document that i was using to keep track of character appearances the last time i watched through the series, and i noticed that for episode 35 i had marked him as a vice admiral, but then when i went to look for a shot of him in a later episode i thought i must have just wrote it down wrong because as you say he was a rear admiral again. Good thing you noticed, i would've written it off entirely otherwise
