Design

The Walküre fighter was comprised of multiple hulls. The port and starboard hulls were fitted with a pair of engines each in an over-under arrangement, for a total of four engines. Each of the port and starboard hulls also mounted a pair of laser cannons each on a rotating turret (mounted on the dorsal and ventral side of each). The port and starboard hulls themselves were capable of travelling along a circular track which ran the circumfrence of the spherical, central hull, as well as rotating completely to face forward or backward (and tilt to the left or right) to rapidly change the direction of the engine's thrust and accordingly, the fighter's direction of flight, together with the line of sight of its laser cannons.

In addition to the four laser cannons, Walküren were also equipped with a pair of rail guns mounted on the ventral and dorsal side of the central hull. The structure of each rail gun extended into the secondary dorsal and ventral hull. The railgun featured an internal mechanism that visibly recoiled out of the structure of its housing when firing.(DNT: 'In the Eternal Night', 'Amritsar')

Walküre deployed from their home ships through the use of individual launch tubes. (DNT: 'Amritsar')

Whilst ordinarily they sported a gleaming white hull, the Walküren of the Black Lancers featured a darker black color scheme, with red accents.

Role and Capabilities

Like the Spartanian, Walküre were small, fast and highly manoeuvrable. With their highly articulated multiple hulls, they were capable of firing on targets without changing their direction of flight. This capability was equally useful against enemy warships as it was enemy fighters - the weapons of a Walküre were capable of inflicting heavy damage on enemy warships. (DNT: 'In the Eternal Night')
