Cool, Clear Artificial Eyes (Japanese: 冷酷なる義眼) is the 8th episode of the Legend of Galactic Heroes OVA.

Synopsis
A former staff officer of Admiral Hans Dietrich von Seeckt, Paul von Oberstein is blamed by the Imperial military triumvirate for the loss of Iserlohn Fortress to Yang Wen-li's 13th Fleet. Oberstein turns to Reinhard von Lohengramm for aid. Reinhard succeeds in persuading Kaiser Friedrich IV to demonstrate leniency; the kaiser refuses to accept the resignations of the three chiefs of the Imperial Armed Forces (which, in turn, makes it impossible for any punishment to be levied against Oberstein).
Oberstein then becomes a subordinate of Reinhard, sharing the latter's distastes for the nobility and the Goldenbaum Dynasty.
