Service history
The Galdhøpiggen first saw combat at the head of the Kempff Fleet in Reinhard von Lohengramm's campaign to defeat the Free Planets Alliance's invasion of Imperial space in 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE), fighting against the 13th Fleet. Forced to withdraw, it then led the fleet to rejoin Fleet Admiral Lohengramm's forces in the Battle of Amritsar Starzone. It would also fight in several battles in the Imperial Civil War in 797 UC (488 IC / 3597 CE), including those outside Geiersburg Fortress. (DNT: 'The Verge of Death (Part Two)', 'Amritsar', 'Tragedy')
Admiral Kempff made Geiersburg Fortress his flagship during the subsequent Eighth Battle of Iserlohn, but late in the battle sortied his fleet on board the Galdhøpiggen in an attempt to defeat reinforcements from Heinessen under the command of Fleet Admiral Yang Wen-li. (DNT: 'Fortress vs Fortress Act III: The Return of the Magician')
Design
The Galdhøpiggen was identical in design to the flagship Heimdall. Heimdall and Galdhøpiggen were both prototype designs for the standard battleship of the Imperial Navy at the time. (OACE)
