Heinrich von Kümmel (Japanese: ハインリッヒ・フォン・キュンメル) was a cousin to Hildegard von Lohengramm. Due to his chronically (indeed, terminally) poor health, he seemed to have been bed-ridden for most or all of his life, thus giving him the appearance of a man well older than he actually was. Heinrich held the title of Baron, though how powerful he was in the court of the Galactic Empire must surely have been negligible due to his inability to actually participate in any obvious manner.

History
Pre-Neue Reich
Hildegard introduced Heinrich to Ernest Mecklinger, whom Heinrich admired greatly due to his aptitude for seemingly all things, a trait he stressed his lack of. During this meeting, Heinrich became angry at his powerlessness, which Hildegard later commented to Mecklinger as being a habit of his. Mecklinger was concerned with this behaviour, but did not comment on it. (LOGH: 'Lost Things')
Neue Reich
After Reinhard von Lohengramm became Kaiser, Heinrich invited Reinhard and his close retainers to a meal, where he revealed a trap he had set up. He explained that beneath the garden where the lunch was to be held, there was a chamber filled with Seffle particles, which he claimed to be willing to detonate. However, he chose to savour the moment of complete power over one such as Reinhard, during which time Ulrich Kesler caught wind of the plot and mobilised a team to save the Kaiser, a task complicated because of the danger of alerting Heinrich, as well as the threat of any weapon fire setting off the underground particles. However, those worries proved to be irrelevant. Heinrich became interested in Reinhard's locket, which he had begun to fiddle with. Overcame with an increasing desire to see what was inside it, Heinrich attempted to force the locket away from Reinhard, which provoked the Kaiser to strike back, knocking the detonator Heinrich had been holding to the ground.
Kesler's rescue team seized this opportunity and jumped upon Heinrich. In the ensuing struggle, the sickly Heinrich, always so close to death, lost what little strength he had saved for the day and passed away. It was discovered that at least one of his employees was involved in the Terraist Church, though whether or not Heinrich himself was a member or just a tool in their constant effort to kill Reinhard was not clear. The Kaiser decided not to shame Heinrich in death, realising the desperation which must have led him to such an act, as well as the corrupting influence of Terraism. (LOGH: 'The Kümmel Incident')
