How to identify the Asgrimm's huge mini-Thor Hammer gun? I wanted to add it in the armament section of the info box, but no dice. Maybe it'd be better to talk about it in the main text, together with screenshot? What does everyone think? Vympel 08:34, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

I think it needs to be described in the main body of the article, together with a screenshot. Depending on how much there is to say about it, perhaps even give it its own "special features" section (or something) under service history. (Re: the infobox--part of me thinks it ought to be mentioned, but given that the armament section really only covers standard cannons and omits so many other weapons--missiles, AA guns, etc.--I don't think its omission is terribly unjustified. Could someone who's more familiar with wiki's layout amend the article so that the appendices etc aren't pushed by the image I added? Thanks guys. Vympel 13:41, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

I fixed it by moving the image up a bit. If there's not enough text in whatever area, if you justify an image left it will push back the section titles. Canary 14:50, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks dude. A pair of fresh eyes always helps (the picture is just as appropriate for service history) Vympel 15:00, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Of interest in that picture is the melting of the lower prow just below the big beam. This matches the FFC 1 "Reader Memo" where it says the radiation and heat from the firing melted part of the front. I wonder what happens then to the crew or were they just sacrificed? You know I've never noticed that before until you mentioned it, but yep, there it is. I imagine if there were any crew in that area, they would've been evecauted prior to firing. But for all we know the entire prow could be cannon mechanisms and the gunners are well back. Vympel 08:38, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
This would explain why we only see it fired once. The FFC does mention it is for only emergency use and places a huge load on the entire ship's power system. Presumably melting part of the prow does no good for the internal mechanisms of its normal prow cannons. At the least I would assume it would need repair time and hence be out of action for awhile. LaserDisc / DVD inconsistency

I wonder, what would be an appropriate name for something in background information about inconsistencies between the laserdisc / DVD version? I'm reminded that the Asgrimm appears in the laserdisc version of Episode 26 when Fahrenheit is racing to Odin with the rest of the admirals - this makes little sense given he was just elevated to Reinhard's admiralty the day before, and he was commanding a regular battleship whilst he was fighting for the high nobles. This was fixed in the DVD version, with him taking a regular High-Speed Battleship back to Odin. Worth noting? Vympel 15:43, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Yes, absolutely! I didn't even notice that! I would say this is the same sort of thing as ONW — the DVD supersedes the LaserDisc, so we can put a mention of the difference in our apocrypha section. I'll add some preliminary stuff now  ♥ kine @ 17:19, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
