Etymology

Is this an allusion to something, or the name of a real-world place? I ask because each time I see this page I can't help but think it's a typo. Canary 15:38, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

The Dverger Starzone article has the answer to that!

The name 'Dverger' refers to the dwarves of Norse/Germanic mythology. Dverger is the spelling used in modern Norwegian (from Old Norse dvergr), whilst the LaserDisc's rendering Dwelg is likely derived from the Old English dweorg.
