Talk:Legend of Galactic Heroes Encyclopaedia
From Gineipaedia, the Legend of Galactic Heroes wiki
Title
Used the German title: the Japanese title is simply, "Encyclopedia: Legend of the Galactic Heroes." Thought the German had more flair than the translation. Canary 16:41, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- I guess it does, but it seems inconsistent to use German here and no-where else, doesn't it? I thought our policy was to avoid that kind of thing — that's why all of our articles say 'IC' and 'New Empire' instead of 'RC' and 'Neue Reich'. It also is not representative of what real people actually call it (i think in the past both you and Vympel have referred to it by its English translation, not the German). I would advocate going by the standard, if boring, English translation ♥ kine @ 17:42, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- The problem with that being that there are multiple books that call themselves various variations of "Legend of Galactic Heroes Encyclopedia." To pre-empt that, we might go with "Legend of Galactic Heroes Encyclopedia: Die Legende der Sternhelden." It helps differentiate this, specific book, and is also the most "complete" form of the title. But, again, it's so long as to be unwieldy. We could abbreviate it to "LoGH Encyclopedia: ...." - EDIT: I went ahead and moved it. We can re-name again if and when we get pages up for the other encyclopaedias. Canary 01:22, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well, you probably know more about the books than i do, but my general opinion would be that, if there are multiple books with the same title, we should just put the year after it (like 'Legend of Galactic Heroes Encyclopaedia (1992)'). That is how MA and WP resolve those types of conflicts ♥ kine @ 13:32, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
