Inconsistency?

Is it just me, or does the ONW Patoroklos have only 32 cannons? (I think its just the angles playing tricks on me, you never get a full frontal view like you do in MCISS) Vympel 10:09, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

I think it is the viewing angle. It is easy to think it has one less column of guns than it really does. Iracundus 10:22, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Small text

Meaning to try this out - small text on the "01" part of the pennant number for Alliance flaships. Look good? Worth doing? Vympel 13:04, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Text from 'Reinhard and Yang'

I have a licensed book called 'Reinhard and Yang' (or something to that effect — will create an article for it later) that contains brief descriptions of some of the ships that appear in MCISS. The Patoroklos is one of those ships; its description in the book reads:

パトロクロス
同盟軍第2艦隊旗艦。パエッタ中将が乗る。全長1159メートル。艦首に光子砲40門を装備している。巨大なスタビライザーが持徴。

Which means something like the following (loosely translated):

Patoroklos
FPA 2nd Fleet flagship. Vice Admiral Paetta commanding. Overall length: 1159 metres. Equipped with 40 forward photon cannons. Features a huge stabiliser.

I am not sure what they're referring to when they say 'stabiliser' (it's in kana), but the length and cannon information might be useful at the very least.  ♥ kine @ 03:42, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

One good thing about LOGH is that the weapons (with the exception of Brunhild and Parzival/Percival) are easy to count just by looking at the show - I just checked MCISS and she definitely has exactly 40 forward cannons - five rows of 8 cannons each along the prow.Vympel 05:07, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Appearance in Episode 21?

In Episode 21 (at around 12:28ish on the CA DVD .mkv), they reuse footage from Episode 2, of Poplin and Konev's Spartanians flying past the Patroklos. Do we take this to mean the Patroklos was part of the Yang Fleet? It's at least *possible* - after all, Patroklos was only damaged at Astate, and the remnants of the 2nd/4th/6th fleets did become the 13th which eventually became the Yang Fleet. Note, I took a similar line with the reuse of footage of the Watzmann from Episode 1 appearing in Episode 20. Thoughts? Vympel 10:46, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

You certainly have a good eye....
I would say that, as long as it seems pretty clear that it's not just a flash-back or something of that nature, then it's fine to take everything that appears in the series literally. I would suggest that maybe you add these instances of footage re-use to the article's talk page, if possible, though — it might be useful later if we decide we want to point out these situations, or if somebody questions our decision to do what we're doing. :)  ♥ kine @ 22:22, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Cool, I'll do so when I bring the whole article more up to spec, probably later today.Vympel 01:26, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Hey, related to this, something occurred to me. If the Patroklos appears in its OVA form in episode 021, i think that canonises its OVA form over the ONW one. Even though ONW is newer, the period of time it covers is earlier, so 021 would trump it. That means we should consider the OVA pennant (and thus the OVA screenshot) the 'canon' one. Right?  ♥ kine @ 11:56, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
Missed this one. Your reasoning is sound, *if* we had seen the Patoroklos' pennant in Episode 021 - but IIRC we don't. We only see it from behind. I'm going to add a gallery to this page soon - what I propose to do is include the MCISS Patoroklos in the gallery - technically, its not really an "appearance difference" - all we need conclude is that the ship had no pennant during the campaign, and then it was painted on after. Vympel 05:17, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Hmm. I guess that is a fair point too. I suppose you are right. Too bad, i hate that fucking ONW screenshot :(  ♥ kine @ 06:57, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Really? No worries, I'll add a differnet one from ONW which is much cooler. Bear with me. Vympel 07:56, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
