Hi, ban?, and images

Firstly, hello! Nice to have you with us.

Secondly, i noticed on your user page it says something about Canary banning you. I haven't been checking the site for a little bit, so i don't know what's going on, and i don't see any drama on the forum. Do you know what happened? :/

Lastly, and the thing i mainly came here to say — i noticed the images you were uploading, and i was wondering if you could do something, possibly two things, for me:

1. In the summary/caption of the image, could you add, at the minimum, a citation so we know which episode/film it comes from? For example:

The planet [[Fezzan]] in {{d|796|uc}}. ({{onw}})

for an image from Overture to a New War, or

[[Francesck Romsky]] in {{d|799|uc}}. ({{logh|068}})

for an image from LOGH episode 068. The citations are pretty important because they help us figure out dates and 'canonicity', and if we ever need to replace an image (which happens frequently, we're always trying to improve stuff) we'll know where to look for the scene it came from.

You can find documentation on the citation codes at {{logh}}, {{mciss}}, {{onw}}, and so on.

2. It seems like most of your images come from the CA LaserDisc rip (the one that's all AVIs). That's not 'wrong' or anything, but CA's remastered DVD rip (the one that's all MKVs) is better in every way, not just for taking pictures but also for watching. If you get a chance, you should definitely switch to those. If not, it's fine, but someone will eventually replace your images by DVD or Blu-ray ones. :)

I dunno what happened with the forum. Sometime after Canary had replied, I tried to log on to reply, but the page just says I got banned.

Yes, some images are from the LD version. But I also prefer some LD pictures over the DVD images especially the flashbacks are not blurred, and hence more useful, i.e. for modelling. ;) Also there is the issue with the japanese writings on the LD version.

I will see what I can do with the citations. I had this pictures for many years so some sorting are still needed.Almael 13:18, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Hm, you should leave a message on Canary's talk page asking him what the deal was. I don't see anything you did wrong, so there must be a mistake or something. If i could unban you myself i would, but i don't have the access to on the forum :x

Re the images, that's fine. As far as the content of the images, you can do whatever you think is best and if someone disagrees at a later time it'll get sorted then. Citations are the most important i think  ♥ kine @ 13:49, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
