Pre-Nue Reich
Hilda introduces Heinrich to Ernest Mecklinger, whom Heinrich admires greatly due to his aptitude for seemingly all things, a trait he stresses his lack of. During this meeting, Heinrich becomes angry at his powerlessness, which Hilda later comments to Mecklinger as being a habit of his. Mecklinger is concerned with this behavior, but does not comment on it, likely believing that Heinrich is more a danger to himself than to others he may envy.
Nue Reich
After Reinhard becomes kaiser, Heinrich invites he and his close retainers to a meal, where he reveals a trap he has set up. He explains that beneath the garden where the lunch was to be held, there is a chamber filled with Seffle Particles, which he claims to be willing to detonate. However, he chooses to savor the moment of complete power over one such as Reinhard, during which time Ulrich Kesler catches wind of the plot and mobilizes a team to save the kaiser, a task which is difficult to execute even once they are in place because of the danger alerting Heinrich to any trouble may cause, as well as the threat of any weapons setting off the underground particles. However, this proves relatively unnecessary. Heinrich becomes interested in Reinard's locket, which he had begun to fiddle with (as Reinhard is wont to do). Overcome with an increasing desire to see what is inside it, Heinrich attempts to force the locket away from Reinhard, which provokes the kaiser to strike back, knocking the detonator Heinrich had been holding to the ground.
Kessler's rescue team seizes this opportunity and jumps upon Heinrich. In the struggle, the sickly Heinrich, always so close to death, loses what little strength he had saved for the day and passes away. It is discovered that at least one of his employees was involved in the Terraist Church, though whether or not Heinrich himself was a member or just a tool in their constant effort to kill Reinhard is not clear. The kaiser decides not to shame Heinrich in death, realizing the desperation which must have led him to such an act (as well as the corrupting influence of Terraism). No noteworthy mention of Heinrich is made for the remainder of the series.
