The Sounding of Gjallarhorn (Japanese: ギャラルホルンは鳴った) is the 43rd episode of the Legend of Galactic Heroes OVA.

Synopsis
Oskar von Reuenthal plans a war of attrition against Iserlohn Fortress. When Reuenthal sees Yang Wen-li's flagship Hyperion emerging from Iserlohn, he decides to rush his fleet to destroy the Hyperion and end the battle quickly. However, this is a feint and the Rosen Ritter led by Walter von Schönkopf manages to board Reuenthal's flagship and engages in close quarters combat with the ship's crew. The battle is a draw and Schönkopf eventually withdraws. Reuenthal returns to his plan of attrition by executing hit-and-run attacks in small groups.
