Cornelius Lutz (Japanese: コルネリアス・ルッツ) was an admiral in the Imperial Fleet serving under Reinhard von Lohengramm.

Military service
Cornelius Lutz as a Lt Commander first met Reinhard in 792 UC (483 IC / 3592 CE) at a firing range in Odin where he taught Reinhard how to properly fire a duelling pistol. (DUEL: 'Chapter II')
Lutz was one the many admirals who was named to serve under Reinhard upon Reinhard's promotion to Fleet Admiral. Lutz's first major battle after joining Reinhard's admiralty was the Battle of Amritsar in 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE). During the Lippstadt War, he served alongside Siegfried Kircheis and August Samuel Wahlen in the Battle of Kyffhäuser. (LOGH: 'The Battle of Amritsar Starzone', 'Courage and Loyalty')
He played a major role in Operation Ragnarök. After the Yang Fleet evacuated Iserlohn Fortress, Lutz was sent in to check the fortress for any explosives that could destroy the fortress and was eventually appointed as the commander of Iserlohn Fortress. Later on though, he would fall for Yang Wen-li's trickery, as he and his fleet were lured out of Iserlohn Fortress, only for the Yang Fleet to re-capture it, and destroy a good portion of Lutz' fleet with the Thor Hammer. In April 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE), Lutz was injured in a Terraist bombing on Fezzan and later expressed a wish to marry a nurse he met while recovering. He was without a specific assignment after the move of the capital to Fezzan although he continued to attend conferences along with the other senior admirals. (LOGH: 'To the Windy Corridor')
Lutz died on Uruvasi in 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE) when a large scale attempt was made to kill Reinhard. Escaping on foot through a burning forest towards the Brünhild, their party was pursued by soldiers and Lutz insisted on remaining behind to cover the escape of the others, refusing to have anyone accompany him. Shot first in the arm and then in the head as he watched the Brünhild take off, he continued to resist until a burning tree branch knocked him to the ground. He was posthumously made a fleet admiral.
