Rank History

I didn't find the right page so here is my question: does Gineipaedia have a table of correspondences between the original japanese military ranks and the translations used here? I made mine in French ([[1]]) as French Marine ranks are not easily adaptable to the Japanese military hierarchy. Anyway, the more I see Gineipaedia's content growing, the more I think it is a treasure for any reliable translator (rank histories, appearances for ships and characters, etc.). Thank you so much! There isn't any from the best of my knowledge; I guess you can use the rank pages (like Military ranks of the Free Planets Alliance for that since the ranks are arranged in order anyway. I could make a makeshift table in this page though, if it's ok.
Original title ↓Translation (space fleet) ↓Translation (ground units) ↓Notes ↓
元帥 Fleet Admiral General of the Army The rank title for land is never used
上級大将 High Admiral Senior General Used exclusively by the Empire
大将 Admiral General
中将 Vice Admiral Lieutenant General
少将 Rear Admiral Major General
准将 Commodore Brigadier General
大佐 Captain Colonel
中佐 Commander Lieutenant Colonel
少佐 Lieutenant Commander Major
大尉 Lieutenant Captain
中尉 Sub-lieutenant Lieutenant
少尉 Ensign Second Lieutenant
准尉 Warrant Officer Warrant Officer
I'm not sure about the ranks of other non-commissioned officers and enlistees, and whether or not translations should distinguish air force ranks as well, but this should do for now =) Glacierfairy 20:12, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Name variations table

I don't know where to post this, but browsing the portal, I came up with the following idea: why not make a table which summarizes all the name spellings (characters, ships, places)? It may be a huge work, but isn't there any way to automate this task (like building a macro which picks only the "Nam variations" in the pages)? As I am struggling to make LOGH released in my country, and therefore to prepare a translation as accurate as I can, this table would be a very useful tool. Saga, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi there! I did hope to do this eventually, but unfortunately our name-variation data is no-where near complete, so i didn't want to start on it when we'd just have to keep making changes to it anyway. :/ Your best bet for the time being might be to manually compare my CA DVD names and DVD names pages  ♥ kine @ 11:27, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Welcome

Hey there! I'm a little late, but i wanted to say welcome, and thanks for your contributions. Please let me know if you need anything!  ♥ kine @ 00:48, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Thank you very much. I am glad to see such a website, that fits the ambition of the masterpiece that is LOGH. I am working to make this work more popular in France (through GinEiDen.net). I'll contribute as much as I can. Saga, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
