Synopsis

Reinhard von Lohengramm learns of the rift between Paul von Oberstein and Fritz Joseph Bittenfeld. Word of the rift leaks to all the soldiers and civilians in Heinessen. Bittenfeld is placed under house arrest by Oberstein for assaulting him. Street fights between Bittenfeld's forces and the military police under Oberstein erupt. August Samuel Wahlen sets out personally to halt the street fights before they escalate into actual combat while Neidhart Müller tries to convince Bittenfeld to apologise to Oberstein and put an end to the unrest. The Iserlohn Republic Government receives the news of the unrest in Heinessen and a declaration by Oberstein for them to present themselves in Heinessen. They decide to divide up their leadership and accept the negotiations in Heinessen for the release of the hostages.

Appendices

Memorable quotes

"But still, without measures like the ones Fleet Admiral Oberstein is taking, can peace, unity and order be established in the universe? If that is the case, why did Kaiser Reinhard and Admiral Yang had to repeat the bloodshed over and over again? If the measures that seem the most despicable are the measures that most effectively reduce bloodshed, why do humans seek the path of righteousness and suffer in the process?"

Julian Mintz

"A slate in the eternal tundra on which only the right arguments are etched. Everyone acknowledges the rightness of it, but refuses to go near it. That's who Fleet Admiral Oberstein is."

Hildegard von Lohengramm
