Marinesk (Japanese: マリネスク) was a Fezzani merchant and smuggler who served as the first officer of the crew of Captain Boris Konev. He first worked aboard Berezka and later The Undutiness, also being the ship's main administrator. After Konev was appointed as a secretary to the Fezzani high commissioner in the Free Planets Alliance, Marinesk remained on Fezzan until it was annexed by the Empire. During that time he became acquainted with Julian Mintz and helped him escape from the Imperial occupied territory back to Alliance space. Marinesk later visited Earth with Mintz and several others as they investigated the Terraist Church. Later on, he and Konev's crew went on to provide assistance to Yang Fleet as they held out in Iserlohn Fortress.
