Service history

The Galdhøpiggen first saw combat at the head of the Kempff Fleet in Reinhard von Lohengramm's campaign to defeat the Free Planets Alliance's invasion of Imperial space in 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE), fighting against the 13th Fleet. Forced to withdraw, it then led the fleet to rejoin Fleet Admiral Lohengramm's forces in the Battle of Amritsar Starzone. It would also fight in several battles in the Imperial Civil War in 797 UC (488 IC / 3597 CE), including those outside Geiersburg Fortress. (DNT: 'The Verge of Death (Part Two)', 'Amritsar', 'Tragedy')

Admiral Kempff made Geiersburg Fortress his flagship during the subsequent Eighth Battle of Iserlohn, but late in the battle sortied his fleet on board the Galdhøpiggen in an attempt to defeat reinforcements from Heinessen under the command of Fleet Admiral Yang Wen-li. Ultimately Kempff's sortie was defeated and he would transfer his flag to Geiersburg Fortress in a doomed attempt to destroy Iserlohn Fortress with a ramming attack, while the remnants of the Imperial fleet under Neidhart Müller retreated to Imperial space. The Galdhøpiggen presumably left the battlefield with the rest of the retreating Imperial forces. It's subsequent service, if any, is unknown. (DNT: 'Fortress vs Fortress Act III: The Return of the Magician', 'Fortress vs Fortress Act IV: Conclusion')

Design

The Galdhøpiggen was identical in design to the flagship Heimdall. Heimdall and Galdhøpiggen were both prototype designs for the standard battleship of the Imperial Navy at the time. (OACE)
