Name origin

"White Stag" is actually a very (very) common name for pubs in the United Kingdom, which, in turn, are (collectively) named after White-Tailed deer, a rare breed. They're something of a cultural/near-mythological status in Britain, and as such is as likely to be a reference to C.S. Lewis' Narnia Books as any one of a half-dozen King Arthur tales. That is to say... not at all.

As such I'm altering both this page and the March Rabbit page to indicate the supposition we are making. Canary 05:41, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

I agree the literary reference is supposition. You are thinking of the White Hart, though, not the White Stag. (And that is a reference to an all-white deer, not the white-tailed deer, which as far as i know is a species native to North America.) I asked a friend in London if he has heard of any pubs using the term 'White Stag' specifically and he had not. I suppose that does not preclude Japanese subtitle silliness though  ♥ kine @ 11:43, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
