Service history

Flagship of the Eisenach Fleet, the Vissarr was first observed in combat at the Battle of Mar-Adetta Starzone, where High Admiral Eisenach took his fleet in a large detour around the battlefield to come up behind the Alliance fleet under Fleet Admiral Bewcock in 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE). Though the Vissarr came into some peril when the fleet was pelted with asteroids thrown into its path by the local star, the ship was undamaged. The Vissarr also fought at the Battle of the Corridor later that year. (LOGH: 'The Battle of Marr-Adetta Starzone (Part One)', 'The Battle of Marr-Adetta Starzone (Part Two)', 'The Battle of the Corridor: Kaleidoscope')

The Vissarr accompanied the Brünhild and the Perceval in leading their respective fleets during Fleet Admiral Oskar von Reuenthal's rebellion, also in 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE), but did not see active combat. (LOGH: 'The Two Great Ones Strike at Each Other!')

Finally, the Vissarr led its fleet at the climactic Battle of Shiva in 801 UC (3 NIC / 492 IC / 3601 CE), where Eisenach cooperated with High Admiral Bittenfeld of the Black Lancers in causing a debacle amongst the Iserlohn Republic Forces, resulting in the destruction of the Hyperion and the death of High Admiral Merkatz. (LOGH: 'The Beautiful Maiden Wants Blood')

Background information

'Vissarr' is a mistranslation of Vidar, the Norse god amongst the the Æsir associated with vengeance. Vidar is referenced in the book Gylfaginning. In chapter 29, Vidar is introduced by the enthroned figure of High as 'the silent god' — making the name of this vessel a reference to Ernst von Eisenach's own silence.
