Service history
Flagship of the Lutz Fleet, the Herðubreið's first campaign was the counterattack against the Free Planets Alliance's invasion of Imperial space in 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE) - engaging and defeating the 12th Fleet. It then rejoined with all of Fleet Admiral Lohengramm's forces in the Battle of Amritsar Starzone. In 797 UC (488 IC / 3597 CE) the Herðubreið led the Lutz Fleet as part of the fleet of High Admiral Siegfried Kircheis during the Imperial Civil War alongside the Wahlen Fleet. Design
Like most Imperial flagships, the Herðubreið's design resembled a standard Imperial battleship in layout. The Herðubreið's most prominent design feature was its large forward weapons emplacement, from which it could fire high-output energy blasts.
