Bruckdorf (Japanese: ブルックドルフ) was an Imperial minister of justice who served under Kaiser Reinhard von Lohengramm beginning in 799 UC (1 NIC / 490 IC / 3599 CE).

Biography

Bruckdorf was serving as a senior official of the judiciary during the late Goldenbaum Dynasty. In 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE), he was a court judge and took part in handling the case of Marquess Sussanna von Beenemünde, following her attempt to murder Kaiser Friedrich IV's consort, Countess Annerose von Grünewald. That was when he first became acquainted with Fleet Admiral Reinhard von Lohengramm, who came to consider Bruckdorf to be a competent and reliable administrator. Following the abdication of Kaiserine Katharin Kätchen and the establishment of Reinhard's New Galactic Empire in 799 UC (1 NIC / 490 IC / 3599 CE), Bruckdorf was appointed as its first minister of justice. In his role, he enforced strict discipline on high government officials and wanted to extend the influence of the ministry of justice over the military, which he thought showed dictatorial inclinations. In early 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE), Bruckdorf carried out an investigation into Fleet Admiral Oskar von Reuenthal and the fact that he was harboring a member of the family of the deceased Duke Klaus von Lichtenlade, which had been exiled by order of Reinhard. He did so at the instigation of Heydrich Lang, the director of the Internal Security Department and vice minister of internal affairs, who wanted to bring down Reuenthal due to a personal grudge. Bruckdorf submitted a report on his findings to the Kaiser, but Lang and his Internal Security Department took over the investigation from there, as Reuenthal did not violate any laws and therefore the ministry of justice did not have authority over the case. The report was taken more seriously because it had been written by the minister of justice, who was considered trustworthy by Reinhard; if only Lang had created it, the report would have been most likely ignored.
