Rigel Starzone

A territory of the Galactic Empire, the Rigel Starzone is presumably one of the older starzones settled by the Galactic Federation during the Golden Age of Humanity. By 288 UC (3088 CE) Rigel was seen as a quiet backwater region, free from the pirates that plagued more distant Federation territories.
History
Future dictator of the Galactic Federation and founder of the fist Galactic Empire, Rudolf von Goldenbaum was assigned to the Rigel Starzone early during his military career, where he made a name for himself by prosecuting fellow officers and superiors for perceived crimes. This activity led to him be transferred out of the relative safety or Rigel, to the the frontier. (Legend of Galactic Heroes Volume 1: Dawn)
