Legend of Galactic Heroes Volume 1: Dawn (Japanese: 銀河英雄伝説1黎明篇) is the first novel in Tanaka Yoshiki's Legend of Galactic Heroes series. It was first published in Japan by Tokuma Novels, an imprint of Tokuma Shoten, on 30 November 1982. (ISBN: 4-19-152624-3). Since 2007, rights to the novels belong to Tokyo Sogensha.

An English translation was published under Viz Novel's Haikasoru imprint on 8 March 2015. (ISBN: 978-1421584942)
