The Steinmetz Fleet was an Imperial Navy formation under the command of Admiral Karl Robert Steinmetz.
History
Steinmetz's force was originally part of the fleet of High Admiral Siegfried Kircheis during the Imperial Civil War of 797 UC (488 IC / 3597 CE), when the former was a rear admiral. The Steinmetz Fleet later took part in Operation Ragnarok from 798 UC (489 IC / 3598 CE) to 799 UC (1 NIC / 490 IC / 3599 CE), where it took heavy casualties during the Battle of the Black Hole against the forces of Fleet Admiral Yang Wen-li. After the signing of the Treaty of Ba'alat, ending the war with the Free Planets Alliance, the Steinmetz Fleet was stationed at the planet Uruvasi, the Imperial military forward base in former Alliance territory. It later took part in the Battle of the Corridor, in 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE), where it took considerable casualties and lost its commander. The fleet was presumably merged into other fleets after Steinmetz's death.
