Arthur Lynch (Japanese: アーサー・リンチ) was the commander of the Free Planets Alliance forces stationed in the El Facil starzone during the Battle of El Facil in 788 UC (479 IC / 3588 CE). After the battle, Lynch was captured by the Empire while attempting to flee and sent to a POW camp. Several years later, he would be returned to the Alliance as part of a prisoner exchange program, with orders from Reinhard von Lohengramm to orchestrate the military coup that would escalate into the Alliance Civil War. He did so at the promise of the Imperial rank of rear admiral and also to get revenge on the Alliance military leaders, whom he considered to be too self-righteous. Lynch successfully instigated a coup, and when it failed because of Admiral Yang Wen-li's actions, he revealed the truth to ringleader Admiral Dwight Greenhill and the other members of the National Salvation Military Council. Horrified that they had been turned into pawns of the Empire, Admiral Greenhill wanted to shoot Lynch, but the disgraced officer shot him first. The other NSMC members then shot him dead and had Lynch's body disposed of to cover up any evidence of Imperial involvement. (LOGH: 'The Battle of Doria Starzone, And...', 'Victory for Whose Sake?')
