Vittorio di Bertini (Japanese: ヴィットリオ・ディ・ベルティーニ) was an Alliance flag officer and a member of the Year 730 Mafia. He was born in 710 UC (401 IC / 3510 CE) and died on 11 December 745 UC (436 IC / 3545 CE) during the Second Battle of Tiamat. He graduated 13th in his class.
History
Commander of the 9th Fleet, his flagship was the Tlahuixcalpantecuhtli.
Vittorio di Bertini was generally known as a coarse, front-line lower-rank officer type, but he was brave, leading battles and dedicated. His destructive capability often eclipsed that of Bruce Ashbey. He looked like a heavy weight boxer, and with facial scars and tanned skin his appearance reinforced his image as a rough and ferocious commander. But he was soft-hearted in everyday life. He married a woman half his height, and he just smiled when Jasper ridiculed it as "the marriage of a bear and a squirrel". He also liked tropical fish. There are rumours that he named his tropical fish after his battle friends, but the veracity of that rumour has not been confirmed. He was killed in action during the Second Battle of Tiamat on 11 December 745 UC (436 IC / 3545 CE) and was posthumously promoted to Fleet Admiral six years later.
