Dawson (Japanese: ドーソン) was an Alliance fleet admiral who served as the penultimate Joint Operations Headquarters chief of the Free Planets Star Fleet. He replaced Admiral Kubersly in 797 UC (488 IC / 3597 CE) as acting chief after he was wounded in an assassination attempt, and served in that capacity during the Alliance Civil War, when he ordered Yang Wen-li to put down various revolts, and Operation Ragnarok, when the Empire invaded the Alliance. After the Empire emerged victorious during that operation in 799 UC (1 NIC / 490 IC / 3599 CE), Dawson was most likely forced to resign, along with the Space Fleet Chief Commander, Admiral Alexandor Bewcock, due to the Alliance defeat. He was replaced by Admiral Rockwell under the post-war administration.
He previously was an instructor at the Free Planets Alliance Officer Academy and was transferred out in 789 UC (480 IC / 3589 CE). (SL: 'The End of One Journey')

Previously he also served as Chief Quartermaster of the 1st Fleet, Chief of the Military Police, as well as the Director of Intelligence for the National Defence Committee.
