Paulus (Japanese: パウルス) was an Imperial spaceman first class who served with the Wesel sniper battalion during the Imperial Civil War under the command of Commander Rauditz. He was killed in action during the Battle of Kyffhauser; after which his body was carried by Commander Rauditz to be thrown against Marquis Wilhelm von Littenheim in a show of defiance and disgust at the Marquis's dishonourable act during the retreat.

In the original novels (Volume 2, Chapter 6), Paulus's body was bisected during the Battle of Kyffhauser and subsequently only the upper half of his body was carried by Rauditz, unlike the OVA adaptation where his body was depicted intact.
