History

At the beginning of his reign, massive democratic rebellions erupted across imperial territory. The people saw Rudolph von Goldenbaum's death as an opportunity to reclaim the liberties they had lost when the Empire was created and restore the Galactic Federation. But the powerful infrastructure of the nobility, military, and bureaucracy of the Goldenbaum Dynasty was more than a match for the rebels, and led by Sigismund I's father and Imperial Prime Minister, Joachim von Neue Stauffen, the revolts were brutally suppressed, firmly establishing the Galactic Empire as a force that would not waver. (LOGH: 'Julian's Journey, Mankind's Journey')

Sigismund I would ultimately be succeeded by his son, Richard I.
