Service history
The Theodoricus participated in Operation Ragnarok under the direct command of Reinhard von Lohengramm in 799 UC (1 NIC / 490 IC / 3599 CE).
At the Battle of Vermilion, Vice Admiral Thurneysen sent his fleet forward into Vice Admiral Brauhitch's forces on the front line, infuriating both Brauhitch and Prince Lohengramm, and giving Fleet Admiral Yang Wen-li the opportunity to inflict heavy damage on both the Brauhitch Fleet and Thurneysen Fleet. The Theodoricus survived this fiasco, and also survived the subsequent encirclement and effective destruction of the majority of the Imperial fleet later in the battle. It was not seen again in subsequent campaigns - probably the consequence of Paul von Oberstein's appraisal of Thurneysen as "a man to stay away from", an appraisal with which Prince Lohengramm agreed. (LOGH: 'The Battle of Vermilion (Part One)', 'The Battle of Vermilion (Part Two)')
