Erlache (Japanese: エルラッハ) was a rear admiral of the Imperial Fleet killed in action at the Battle of Astarte. Along with Vice Admiral Staden, he was opposed to Reinhard's inital battle plan and disobeyed Reinhard's orders later in the battle, resulting in the complete destruction of his ship, the Heidenheim, at the hands of the 2nd Fleet under command of Yang Wen Li during the Alliance counterattack.

Background information
Erlache's name is likely derived from Erlach, the name of several locations and families in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, the most notable of which are probably Erlach, Switzerland and the patrician family who took its name.
Apocrypha
Despite wearing the uniform of a vice admiral in the OVA, Erlache is referred to in the dialogue and original subtitles as a rear admiral. The costume error was corrected in Overture to a New War.
